Agent Settings for Remote computers

At the moment when you configure the Agent settings for Desktop Central, it asks you to configure the IP address only. For laptops, which are frequently outside the firewalls, I would like to have the Desktop Central Agent be able to continue to connect to the server so that they can use it to submit tickets with screen shots without having to log in to VPN.

Am I missing something configureable or would this be a wish list item?
