Duplicate Username

So we created out first template with custom scripts and everything is working great. But what do we do for duplicate usernames? I dont see any options in AdManager to deal with this. Im currently using version 6.2.2. It would be nice if we can tell it to use the first letter of the middle name or the 2nd letter of their first name...and so on.
