Can you please give a recommendation to edit massively the state of Workstations?

We have an scenario where we will return several computers to store but can't find the efficient way to do it, since there are specific 

serial numbers that we need to return to store.

We have no common fields between workstations that can help to filter and change the state.

We are looking for something like looking for several serial numbers at once and from there edit the state of the search results.
