Apologize. We have not yet tested ServiceDesk with Exchange 2010.

Is there an updated time frame as to when Exchange 2010 will be supported?  Any kind of workaround available?

Although we haven't officially tested it on Exchange 2010,there are customers who have it working with Exchange 2010.

So please try configuring the mail settings and if you come across any issues please generate the logs under Support\SupportFile and send it across to our Support Team at support@servicedeskplus.com to further analyze the issue.

Mary,

For any application to talk to Exchange we need to set up a protocol.So if these IT Shops you mentioned,doesn't use neither pop or imap they must be using something else.

In ServiceDesk Plus we support pop,pops,imap and imaps and its necessary that you configure any one of them to talk to the receive connectors in Exchange to fetch mails into the application.

Unable to send mails from service desk, we are using exchange 2010. Able to receive mails in service desk. From outlook able to send and receive mails

I had this problem too.  i configed the authentication to Basic and on the Retrival Settings change the Message MIMI format to text and it all started working.

There was lot of mail fetching issues in older builds of the application. We request you to upgrade to the latest version of the application.

Is Exchange mailbox support on or off the current Roadmap for future support?  For a product as robust as Servicedesk Plus I was shocked to see a lack of support for this.

Servicedesk does support Exchange Mail box for mail fetching. It uses either of these protocol to fetch the mails POP/POPS/IMAP/IMAPs

I'm sorry I should have been more clear.  Is there no intent to support the MAPI protocol for Exchange Mailboxes?

I went through everything on the web site and tested the demo version online.  I really liked what I saw and downloaded and installed this yesterday in my network.  I had every intention to purchase this software provided it worked as well as I thought it would.
As I was going through the configurations I had the same problem as everyone else when configuring the connection to my Exchange server.  This is how I found this message thread.

All I can say now is WOW!  I would have never thought that a software package like this would not have native support for Exchange 2010.  I absolutely will not turn on IMAP or POP on my Exchange servers to make this work and I'm simply amazed that this is the only methods supported.  This thread was started 2 years ago and this "option" is still on the drawing board! Really??

Thanks so much for wasting my time - there is no way I'll be buying this product. I could make this statement based on just the lack of Exchange functionality, but on top of that it's obvious you don't respond to customer needs. 2 years!!  I just dodged a bullet on this one!!

Okay, so I have tested the software and it looks good, but same problem with POP3 settings. I first tried POPs but since I didn't have SSL enabled I reverted back to POP. Problem is my Exchange server shows that ServiceDesk is still trying to connect with SSL even though POP is selected in the ServiceDesk Incoming settings:

From Exchange:
Unexpected error condition: call to function CEncryptCtx::CheckServerCert() resulted in error code 0x800cc801.

My Config
Email Type: POP
Port: 110

I tested the POP server on Exchange from a normal client using the exact same settings and no problem there. The POP virtual server is not filtering hosts addresses nor is it applying any throttling. The Application log on Exhchange clealy shows ServiceDesk making an SSL request on a normal POP port.

Please advise

Go to Admin-->Mail Server settings-->Stop fetching and Start fetching. Go to Support tab generate the support file and sent it to us.

You can either use SMTP/SMTPS to fetch mails from Exchange to Servicedesk. After configuring the required setup for sending out mails in Servicedesk, try to send a reply. If any error is received send me the support file from Support tab.

How would you setup SD to fetch emails from exchange using SMTP? I thought the only way SD could get emails from exchange was by using POP or IMAP?

For now SMTP can be used only for mail sending and not for mail fetching.

You can configure Exchange 2013 with POP/POPS/IMAPS/IMAP in Servicedesk for mail fetching and SMTP/SMTPS for Mail Sending.
