High Availability setup on Linux - modes and permissions

Hello,

We are using Password Manager Pro build 7102 on Red Hat Linux with PMP replication (High Availability setup). Following built-in procedure for setting up HA environment produces complete secondary environment with one serious problem however - standby database cannot start.
After some investigation, I have found that reason for the failure are wrong file and directory permissions (root user instead of postgres). Apparently HAPack.zip created by HASetup.sh does not store file ownership and modes correctly.

My workaround was to get file list from archive and use 'rsync' command to transfer these files from primary to secondary location. Advantage of rsync vs tar and cpio is that this utility restores ownership not only for a file but also for all directories leading to it.

I hope that above information will help some people with similar problems, until official vendor solution becomes available.

Best regards
Michal
