how to clear the contents of an additional filed within incidents when reassigning ?

Hi,

Is there any idea about how to clear the contents of an additional filed within incidents when reassigning this request to another technician?

this would help me to create a certain field to enable the technician to write the reason of inactivity on a certain request to gather those reasons on a report to my manager. or is there any other way to do so?
