Did you know : How to Configure Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) for user logins with Duo Security?
With the two-factor authentication feature, ADSelfService Plus easily wards off potential security threats by fortifying user accounts with an extra layer of security, in addition to passwords, during logins. It reinforces security with options to set up two-factor authentication using any of the three advanced authentication techniques, viz., SMS and email based verification codes, Duo Security authentication, and RSA SecurID.
Two-Factor Authentication via Duo Security
When two-factor authentication using Duo Security is enabled, during every login, users will have to prove their identity through any one of the following methods:
- Approving a push notification from Duo Security mobile app.
- Attending a verification call.
- Entering a security passcode generated during the login process.
Configuration
Duo Security based two-factor authentication can be configured with just two simple steps.
Step 1: Integrate Duo Security with ADSelfService Plus.
- Log in to your Duo Security account and navigate to Applications.
- Click Protect an Application.[Refer image]
- Now, search for Web SDK in the applications list.
- Click the Protect this Application link from the search result.[Refer image]
- Copy the values of Integration key, Secret key, and API hostname from the Web SDK page that opens up.[Refer image]
Step 2: Configure ADSelfService Plus for Duo Security.
- Login to ADSelfService Plus console using administrator credentials.
- Navigate to Admin -> Customize -> Logon settings.
- In the Logon Settings page, click the Two-Factor Authentication tab.
- Select Enable Two-Factor Authentication option.
- Select Duo Security option.[Refer image]
- Paste the values that you copied from the web SDK page, in the respective fields
- Click Save.
