Good Afternoon,
Is it possible to restrict USB access per user? I understand it can be accomplished per machine, however; as an administrator I would need USB connectivity available when I log in.
Looking through the templates for user configuration:
User Configuration ->Registry Settings ->Header Key displays the following options:
A. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
B. HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
C. HKEY_CURRENT_USER
D. HKEY_USERS\.Default
The registry settings for computer configuration point to the correct location for USBSTOR as noted below.
Disable USB Drives - Per Machine
Write Value
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR
REG_DWORD
Start
4
Is there any possible way to configure USB restriction per user? I also searched the forums for this issue and the only response was from 6 years ago. The answer said it would be addressed in a future release.
Thank you for the assistance.
