I made a post some time ago about Java Heap Space out of memory issues on our SDPlus server but didn't follow through on the issue.

Whats basically happening is we are unable to update SDP 8208 to any later version due to the below error from the Update Manager.

Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

 

I've set up Java and StartSDP.bat to use up maximum resources recommended by you guys on your Tuning page. What I also noticed is the backups start to run, but then fail within 5 minutes. I can see files being written to the backup directory, but they all disappear.

 

Below is my results of the Performance Schedule

 

PerformanceMonitoringSchedule configured by : ***** with default settings as CPU Usage:80% :: FreeMemory :100MB :: TimeLimit :2min

 

As a result of this, we are now stuck on Version 8208, are unable to upgrade, and are unable to back up our database.

 

The backups did work until halfway through January, where they suddenly stopped. No changes were made on the server OS (Server 2008 R2)

Server is Server2008 R2 with 4GB ram running on a VMware Virtual host. 4 CPU cores allocated.
