Desktop Central adds support for managing computers running Mac OS.
The initial version will include the Asset Management functions for Mac including Hardware & Software details, Software License Management, Inventory Alerting, and more

Support for managing Mac computers have been included in our regular updates in build: 80025. Now, users can manage both Windows and Mac computers using Desktop Central.
Existing users can download the latest hotfix from here to upgrade to build # 80025
If you are new, you can download the latest EXE directly from our website.

Thanks for the question.
The mac software update is not the one which is in queue for release. Instead its the software deployment then followed by Remote Control. I trust the software deployment should be available by the end of third quarter.

when will software deployment for mac become available (and not via scripting but in the same way via the gui as you deploy patches for the windows clients)

The Patch Management part of MAC is ready for release with user interface. However, i'm not sure whether Software Install is anywhere in the near future Road-map as there are not much requests from customers on that direction. I'll forward this to the development team.

thanks for the quick response
may i respectfully ask if it is ready for release why is it not being released? desktop central core function is patch management (that is the reason i purchased it) and if it is now able to keep both my mac and windows estate up to date that would be a huge improvement over the current situation where i can patch all my windows computers via Desktop Central but have to manually update the macs (especially third party flash etc software)
the shift within our company is that more and more client devices are becoming macosx and windows is becoming less and less popular.

Thanks for the quick response and explaining the scenario.
When i mentioned as 'ready for release' it means it is not under development but in the testing phase. We would have lot of features and fixes which gets released in weekly build. So this MAC patch management which is in Testing phase would be released based on the testing results and its turn in the release cycle.
I understand that there are good level of growth in Apple hardware and OS adoption in the Industries. Desktop Central would do its best to keep you in control of the Situation.
