We have configured automatic patch updated and my user community has been noticing that the patches takes forever to install.

For instance, 30 updates will take hours to install.  We are using top of the line hardware so I know that's not the issue. 

I have also noticed that each patch seems to create its own Windows Restore point. This means 30 patches will have 30 restore points created.  Seems a bit excessive and is probably contributing to this issue.  Does anyone have any ideas how I can speed the patch installation process up? I don't want to disable System Restore or the VSS service.
