please configure the mail server settings before adding Email/SMS profiles loop

I am trying to configure a "log a ticket" notification profile, and when I do I get stuck in this loop. I have tested the mail server settings and it works, and no matter what I do it keeps coming back to this message. Even after I go to the mail server settings and click OK to accept the existing settings (I also tried re-entering them), it continues to give me this popup until I click cancel on the mail server settings configuration screen, which then puts me back at the Admin screen to start all over.
