Why we are currently not upgrading to the PRO version of ServiceDesk Plus

Hi guys,

Thought I'd share some feedback as to why we are looking at putting in Spiceworks for Asset Management rather than upgrading to ManageEngine Professional.

Basically it comes down to administrative overhead associated with your price structure.

For example, lets say we currently have 500 nodes on our network and we purchase a 500 node license, by nodes I mean servers, switches/routers/etc, workstations, laptops, VoIP phones (??), and printer/scanners. Under the current licensing this would mean that *every time* we replace a system we have to ensure we also manually disable/remove the node from ManageEngine (I'm not sure which as I've not run the trial version, if we have to remove it then we would lose all historic data).

We've got enough work to deal with already, getting Asset Management software should simplify our job, not make it more work.

I would think a better model would be a flat fee to upgrade to Pro or Ent based on the number of technicians listed in "Users - Technicians" (not sure how you would deal with the "Administrator" user..? Perhaps the Administrator user could be limited to the standard version features but have full access to all the Admin areas?). From there we could choose to pay annual maintenance if we would like to continue to receive updates for the system.

For your consideration.
Thanks guys!
