Configuring AppMan to automatically log calls in Service Desk Plus requires the SDP Admin account and login

Hi,
we successfully configured AppMan to log calls automatically in Service Desk Plus when Alerts are triggered.  A great enhancment to our monitoring.
 
However, in setting it up in Appman, the only SDP account that it could use (to import and connect to SDP) was the ADMIN account. We had previously removed this, as I had admin privilages.  We recreated it, and it worked, but it also uses up one of our 10 licenses for SDP.
 
Am I correct in saying that the ADMIN account is the onl one that will work?
 
By the way, we don't have single sign-on, if that's relevant.
