When a batch of items reach us from one of our suppliers, we want to import these items using the CSV import function by reading the supplied Excel-file. We bring up the import asset form, pick the Excel file, and starts to map all the fields. This works well, all the items end up in the CMDB nicely. However, each time we import these files, we have to do the mapping all over again. Since we import several times a day, and all the suppliers delivers the Excel file in the same format (that is, the column in the same place, always), this is a very time consuming and error prone work to be done so often. We would really like the opportunity to save a template to be reused for later imports. Ideally we should be able to choose from more than one template.

First of all, does this functionality exists already, yet to be discovered by us? Or is there a work-around somehow that you may suggest. Otherwise, is there such a functionality in the planning?
