Custom Reports

I've seen some older threads from about two years ago requesting the option to create custom reports.  Has any progress been made to create custom reports?
 
I have a requirement to create custom scheduled reports as part of our workflows.  It's somewhat cumbersome to have a report emailed and then opened in Excel to filter out results, save, and again forward to distribution lists.  I'd like to filter in ADM+ by creating custom reports.
 
Is this possible?  What is the development timeframe to expect this feature?  Should I look at other products to generate these reports?
