FAILURE :E-mail settings saved successfully. But error occurred while trying to check connection with mail server - Unable to open mailbox in READ/WRITE mode.

Has anyone ever had this issue? We currently have a mailbox that is working in our production system but we would like to use a different approach to manage incidents and use a new e-mail account that was created. When ever I try to save the mail server settings for this mailbox, I get the following error:

FAILURE :E-mail settings saved successfully. But error occurred while trying to check connection with mail server - Unable to open mailbox in READ/WRITE mode.

But if I use the POP protocol it works fine. Our organization is pretty big and I don't have access to talk to the exchange server engineers directly but I do have display access on the exchange server and when I compare our PROD account and this new account, everything looks the same, they all have the same memberships and rights it seems like. I just don't know why I get this error while our production mail account works fine with IMAP. I opened a ticket with level 1 to have this checked out and they sent it to the exchange guys and they said everything is ok on the server side so I am not sure how to get this fixed.
