Getting '80072030' error when attempting to create new security groups

Hello, I am trying to add/create new security groups in Active Directory, and when I attempt to do so, I receive the following error against each record:

Error In Creating Group,There is no such object on the server. - Error Code : 80072030

I have gone into Domain Settings/Actions/Update Domain Details, and selected both OU and Groups to refresh. I then get a " Refresh request is being processed, the data will be updated in a few moments." message. How can I tell if/when this process has completed?
