looking for info on setting up clustering in win 2012 R2 with no shared disk

We are just starting our adventure with Password Manager Pro and are hoping to set up clustered SQL servers and clustered PMP servers at our main office and our DR site.  All servers will be running win 2012 R2 and will be virtual, running on VMware ESXi 6.

I have built the SQL and application server pairs, added the Failover Clustering feature on each server, and configured the two Failover Clusters, one for SQL and one for the app servers.  However, once this process was finished, I find that I have no usable disk on either server in either pair.

The complication is probably the fact that we have no shared storage between the two members of each cluster since they are at different sites, but it was my understanding that Win 2012 R2 supports clustering without shared storage.

If anyone can refer me to a good reference on how to set these clusters up properly, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
