I believe there should be a Custom View for Requests as per below.
My Open/On Hold Or Unassigned.
I have tried to create this as a Custom view the only problem is I can't make it public because there is not a selection available for "Logged in Technician" in the technician list, meaning the person currently viewing their list.
Technician is None.
Or
Technician is Self. (Not specifically you but the Technician using this filter.)
