OID monitoring for counter type in SNMP monitor
We have to monitor the temperature and velocity fan in a EMC storage. For that we have the "EMC_SW.mib" MIB. In this MIB there are the following:

If we monitor all the "swSensorEntry" table, we have the following in the Applications Manager (v.11900):
That's correcto, BUT if we would like to do an alarm for the temperature and another for the fan, we couldn't. We only could create alarms for all the "swSensorValue" column, but not for only a value.
The solution (and the PROBLEM) is if we add only one value for monitoring.
We can add only one value for monitoring, for example for the SLOT 0 TEMP3, we can ADD and OID atribute with the "1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.1.1.1.1.22.4 .3 ", but the attribute is created with default "String type", and not "Counter type". The value appears, but we can't define a numeric threshold (remember it is string type). If we change the type to "Counter type", the value doesn't appears, and only the "Could not be obtained " message appears. That's the problem !!!
