Prevent Errors when Cisco Interface in Shutdown

When our Cisco switchports are not in use, OpManager shows the port in Critical Error when in fact it is shutdown by our Engineers for audit purposes. If a new user or device is provisioned to use the port then it is turned on.
 
Only way to prevent the error from appearing is to not monitor the port. Is there a way for OpManager to auto sense a shutdown port and not monitor? In the least not show the port in error when we shut it down?
