remote control agent - problems to connect - how to install the remote connection agent as a service

Dear Support

We are encountering problems when trying to connect to workstations via SD+ remote control. It could be related to access rights issues.

Therefore, we are planning to install the remote control agent to each workstation as administrator (via ADS or during installation of the workstation) and run the service automatically, in order to avoid problems and to save time when connecting from SD+ to the workstation (as mentionned, probably due to installation rights issues when installing the agent via SD+)

1) from the SD+ server, we took the agent.exe from this path
C:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\Patch\AdventNet_ManageEngine_ServiceDesk_Plus-7.5.0-SP-1.0.0\SERVICEDESK\server\default\conf\agent

2) we installed the agent successfully on a workstation using administrator rights.

The agent has been installed under C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\AssetExplorer\RemoteControl

3) When trying to start the Service.exe; a log file Service.log is created and contains following error:

a) one one workstation:

*****************************************************
Logging started on: 01-11-09
***************************************************
17:17:34 StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failure, error code = 1310172

b) On another workstation, we found the same logfile containing this error code:

*****************************************************
Logging started on: 01-11-09
***************************************************
16:54:50 StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failure, error code = 1244636
*****************************************************
Logging started on: 01-11-09
***************************************************
16:55:41 StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failure, error code = 1244636

c) on a third workstations, remote control works fine, when installed via SD+.
The logfile then shows:

*****************************************************
Logging started on: 30-10-09
***************************************************

and the directory C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\AssetExplorer\RemoteControl contains more files (i.e. some dll's which are not present in my installation)

What goes wrong? Perhaps, we are missing something.

What do I need to install the remote connect agent? How could it be done?

BTW: netsh firewall set service FILEANDPRINT has been done before

Please help! Thanks in advance.

Best regards, Marc Ludwig
