Request - For Web Farm Monitoring

Request - For Web Farm Monitoring

We use hardware Load Balancers, in front of our web farms.

On each individual servers, I have a URL I can go to, to see which server, is actually active.

Basically I go to my http://myserver.domain.com/Server.txt    and the only content here is:

Server1;   or Server2;   or Server3\

What would be nice on my URL monitor for http://myserver.domain.com/Server.txt  if I could define a list of acceptable values  (Server1; Server2; Server3), and have opmanager display which of those values (value1; value2; value3) was returned...  and for reports, I would like to see the percentage of (value1; value2; value3)... times of day might be important as well (like graphs do now).

There are times when while our service is UP... we don't know that there is something flakey happening on one of our servers, so that, the one in the prominent spot of doing work, can be other than expected.

While I DO monitor the individual /Server.txt URLs on each server, I would really like to see it, in the way, which server(s) are getting the most attention.

We have a current request from a project to increase their number of servers, but of the pool they have now, I'm seeing one server being the "present" one, doing all the work.  I would really like to monitor this, for historic purposes, it will help us see where we actually have cause to expand servers, and where we might otherwise need to tweak our load-balancing.  Historic data reports in Opmanager would be desired, as I've described.  Thank you
